Sulphur-based medicated soap for oily, pimple-prone skin

Why we get pimples

During puberty, the androgenic hormone testosterone is produced in both sexes and converts to DHT, which stimulates the oil glands to produce sebum. Dust clings to this sebum, feeding bacteria that enter the pores and break the fat down into irritating fatty acids. Along with skin-cell debris, this blocks the neck of the gland, causing a bulge that becomes infected and forms pus, and can spread to adjacent glands.

How Acnil works

Acnil contains sodium silicate, a mild abrasive that clears the blocked oil glands. Once the neck is open, pent-up oil is cleared by the surfactant isopropyl myristate. Oxygen then penetrates the gland, which the anaerobic acne bacteria cannot survive.

The sulphur compound in Acnil acts on the bacteria; pimples begin to dry out over the following days with regular use.

Directions

Use twice a day, keeping the lather on for at least three minutes. Use continuously during adolescence.

Caution

People allergic to sulphur should avoid usage.

Gentle daily face wash for oily, acne-prone skin with aloe vera, saffron and D-panthenol

A daily cleanser for acne-prone skin that lifts sebum and dust from the pores without stripping the skin, formulated with aloe vera, saffron and D-panthenol.

Directions

Wet the face, dab a small quantity of face wash on the face and gently work the lather in. Wash off after 3 minutes. Use three times a day.

Directions

Apply a small amount as a thin layer to the affected areas or the entire face, as directed by your dermatologist.
